This is what I have on my 870.SpecOps Adjustable Shotgun Stock - BLACKHAWK!

These can be had for about $100.00 if you shop around.

I liked the all-steel factory folder back in the day, but I have the long arms that are compatible with its long length of pull. (Distance from butt plate to trigger face.) The present folding OEM stock on Remington shotguns is not the same, and I don't know much about it. In my younger days, a squishy recoil pad was not important, but that has changed.

I am thinking about trying a Sage International stock for the 870, because of the very high quality of the SCAR stock from that company that I have on a Mini-14. Brownells used to list them, but when I was ready to order, I found Brownells no longer carried them.

I have a Butler Creek side folder on a Mossberg 500. It is very solid and has a good soft recoil pad. I've put hundreds of rounds through it over the last 15-20 years without any problems. Not sure on current price, but here is their website: Butler Creek

definitely the best adjustable stock made. just make sure you get the one with the recoil reduction.

the best made is the factory remington folding stock. they are hard to find and will cost some $$$ now. i got one on my old work "raids" gun. now there is another way to go. get the m16/shotgun stock setup. i have put one on a second gun and like it better. now it does not make the gun as small as the factory folder, but it is close when you set it in the full closed slot.
