Rail cover question
I've finally gotten my carbine where I want her, as far as where all her accessories are located.
Now I need rail covers. (Vanessa has a LaRue forend)
What kind and where to buy, since my first thought is DUUUUUUH - order ladder rail covers!
Reason I ask is, some are hard as rock and feel like they'd require a hydraulic press to install.... where others are soft and rubbery and easier to install/remove.
I need some of the softies.....where can I get 'em???
:) Thanks in advance!

I know Botach Tactical isn't the most popular company in the gun world, but I've been using these for several years and I like them:
Falcon Low Profile Rail Covers
They're the cheapest I've been able to find anywhere for ladder covers, especially in 18-slot length. The quality is fine - they're soft molded plastic, kinda hard to screw up. And at $5 each, I don't mind buying some extras so I can cut them up and try different configurations.
For installation, I've found that if you work them back and forth in your hands a few times, it really helps them to snap on easier. Or if all else fails, you could use a hair dryer on them to soften them up. I've never had to resort to such tactics though.
"A well-educated electorate, being necessary to the continuance of a free state, the right of the people to keep and read books shall not be infringed."
Is this hard to understand? Then why does it get unintelligible to some people when 5 little words are changed?

DPMS has rubbery ladder covers. If u decide to go with panels, Daniel Defense has some comfy ones.

There are reasons for that beyond customer service complaints. They are thieves.

I've got the 2" ones on my AR. I like these because I can just pop one off wherever I need to use the rail.
They may even be hard rubber. They came on my rifle, so I'm not sure where to buy them.
