An old sawed-off (yes, it's legal) 20 ga Itheca single shot loaded with buckshot, backed up with a G30 and CZ-82. Sorry, the shotgun is too ugly for photos. Had it since I was 12.

I guess my philosophy when it comes to a defensive shotgun is that less is more.

I agree with Cuda66...less is more. A side saddle or speed feed for extra ammo, and possibly a white light....all a person really needs. I do like eethomas' version very well.

That's the epitome of the shotgun in plain English I take it? The shotgun is generally the most devastating combat weapon available for many reasons even though it might not be the most versatile in all situations. Having a shotgun is one of those things sort of like eating warm apple pie with ice cream on the front porch while watching your American flag on the pillar waving in the breeze. It's just something that's got to be one of the best feel good things to know...having a shotgun. Out in the boonies, the shotgun plays many roles, and it's almost a must have no matter what make or model. Think of the shotgun as part of your heritage and being American just like that apple pie. I know I'm not whole without one. No matter what you do to it, a show piece, an antique, a side-by-side, an O/U, wood stock or plastic, 12ga, 16ga, 20ga, Wal Mart's best offerings, ninja it up, put a heat shield on it like you'll need it and make it look cool.........it's still a shotgun, and that says enough. If you've got a shotgun, you'll have more peace of mind than without for sure. Okay...just my opinion, but I've been without any shotgun before. I don't wish to ever be there again. I'm getting wiser in my years I'm guessing. Since my Kodak camera and my computer don't get along, I'll leave you with the intent of posting a better pic than my cell phone can deliver.

Here is one of mine, my favorite to date. I'm going for a new one this coming winter, but the decision is which one is question now.

Mossberg or Remington. We shall see.
