Bought my first AR. 16 incher someone built for me. Being a n00b, a friend said I got a good deal on it.
Anywho - debating buying a used scope of a buddy. I mounted it using windage adjustable rings, medium / high height. My question is how the hell do I use the charging handle? The back end of the scope is well over it, and it makes getting my chamber open a pain in the ass. Will hooking it and pulling 3/4 of the way back from one side cause any breakage/problems until I can get 2 fingers on it? What do all of you do?
An extended handle like JD said is your best bet.

a single finger hooking the charge handle should be just fine till you get a extended handle . I tend to use one finger while doing cleaning and chamber checks, ect.

Thanks. Not sure yet if I wanna go holo or scoped, but that handle will def be an added help. I like the looks of that bravo co one - looks pretty heavy duty.
In the meantime, you're not going to break the charging handle by using one finger to pull it back, so don't worry about it from that aspect.
A man fires a rifle for many years, and he goes to war. And afterward he turns the rifle in at the armory, and he believes he's finished with the rifle. But no matter what else he might do with his hands - love a woman, build a house, change his son's diaper - his hands remember the rifle.
