Talking Early Happy Birthday to Me!!

My wonderful wife has been hunting for a Marlin 1894css (stainless) .357 lever action for me for my birthday. She hasn't had much luck as they are hard to find.

We knew one store that had one that they said a customer had wanted a couple weeks ago. So I called them to see if the customer ever came to get it. They said, "no, if you want it, you can get it".
This was yesterday. I told him to put my name on it and we would be up today to get it.

We were there a few minutes before they opened this morning. (3 hour drive).

Picked it up! Woo Whoo! Happy Birthday to Me.

Then we find out that they also have a 2nd store which is located about an hour from us, that is actually a bigger store, so on the way home we made a detour and stopped in. Wow much bigger store. Better selection than any other place in our area.

I'd been wanting to pick up a lever action .22LR for a plinker and to teach our son on. So I picked up a Henry H001Y (youth size) .22 S/L/LR lever action from that store.

What a day I've had!! Feels more like Christmas to me!

Got to love having a wife that has some Tom boy in her!!

Your stainless Marlin is very sharp. Was eyeing a 30/30 version at a big box store over the winter. Would much rather the .357....some day.

Congrats on both rifles. That .22 looks fun too.

Very good job on the pics. Thanks for sharing.
