    Mossberg 500 customization - question

My HD shotgun, a 12ga Mossy 500 pump, has recently received a 6 shell side saddle and last night a folding pistol grip stock. Next is a sling with mag tube cap swivel. Now I'm looking for a flashlight with strobe and a pressure pad.

Question: I can't find a strobe flashlight that is simple to operate (such as press the pad once for constant light and twice for strobe, third time off). I found a couple, but they were "twist the end cap for constant light, press the left paddle switch up and quickly press the right one down 3 times, etc.."

I also don't have any picatinny rails anywhere, so I thought about a barrel or mag tube mount at 3:00 o'clock or a rail on top of the receiver and have the light mounted in the position of a scope.

Anyone have any thoughts or suggestions? Thanks.

So you're a lefty I take it? What's so appealing about the strobe light versus an on and off light? To me, a strobe light actually disorients you and the perp at the same time. You may be heading down the wrong path. If you've just got to have it, look into the magazine tube mount. Farther away from your head than a receiver mounting option and making yourself a target IMO. You don't need to double the weight of your shotgun to survive.......just be able to use it wisely in the time of need.

No, I'm a righty. I wanted the light mounted on the right hand side of the weapon so it wouldn't obstruct my view in any way. That's why I also need the remote pressure pad switch. The disorienting nature of the strobe seems like a nice option to have available, but until I get one and experiment with it I can't speak to the affects from either side of the weapon. I just want it to be simple to operate. I appreciate not wanting to make the weapon unusually heavy...I've just not figured out a good way to hold a flashlight while operating a pump shotgun. The side saddle also seemed like a good way to have extra ammo at your imediate disposal and handy to re-load. The folding stock wasn't something I wanted, but after many sessions with just a pistol grip, it became apparent that my right hand couldn't take more than about 3 shots. I've had the gun for a while and am just figuring out a few things to add or change to make it fit my purpose better. Thanks for the feedback.

Have a look at this. It is 120 lumen. You might call them about the mount.
This is a good price for a small light weight light/strobe w/ pressure switch.
They also have a Shotgun Tri Rail Mount. Get both on sale for $75.00

If the strobe feature is not a deal breaker look at a Surefire fore end. Pricey but has everything you want but no strobe. Included pressure pad switch and new 300 lumen head.

Thanks!!!! Just the combo I was looking for. Just ordered. I'll post pics of the finished product and do a review of everything when I've had a chance to try it all out.

I'm looking forward to seeing the pics and your review.
The tri-rail mount should give you good flexibility.
