Once I can find a Mossy or Rem pump for less than $100 I'll buy it, load it with 00 Buck and throw it behind the seat of my truck. Or if I eventually get an sks I'll put it behund the seat.

That's an excellent question. I had a couple of M44's a few months before I had it shown to me.

The rear end of the bolt itself is the safety. You grip it FIRMLY, and bracing the buttplate against your shoulder, pull back on it HARD. When you feel it pull back (maybe half an inch),twist it to the left (counterclockwise). Let go of it, and it will snap down on the left rear part of the receiver.

To turn the safety "off", pull back on it again, and twist it clockwise.

It takes some practice to get proficient with it, but once you do, it's easy.

The trigger will pull, but it will not engage the trigger spring with that safety on. And that safety is the safest safety I've ever encountered.

The spring in that bolt is S-T-R-O-N-G.

Yup,

1982 Winchester 30-30 on the back seat of the truck covered in a long beach type towel ready to go. A 6 rd belt carrier in the armrest cup holder area covered, and two boxes of shells [ 40 rds ] for it under the front seat.

30-30 sits no rd in the chamber and 6 in the tube. It's reach back, grab it, get out, lever it and start what needs to be finished. I've also got others surprises in the truck, and carry a g26 [ presently ] 24/7 on me, so the 30-30 lever would be for when I thought it would be of benefit over the handgun/s.

P95--I also have a Marlin Papoose. NIB from years ago with extra mags I found on the net in the case along with ammo. You don't see them around much or even dicussed but it sure makes for a handy takedown doesn't it?

when going out of town usually take the wife's vehicle and always have the AK in a zip bag with 5 30 rnd mags
until "my" vehicle can easily store it I don't have it to/from work
