It may be heavy, but I imagine the balance of the weapon will be superior to something like a 500/590/870 with a long barrel and magazine tube. In that case, the weight can only help tame the felt recoil.

Interesting to see companies like Kel Tec coming out with truly innovative designs while the major manufacturers simply tweak the tried and true. Both have a niche, I guess.

It is still a pump action, so it is going to kick like a mule.
And with the muzzle so much dramatically closer to your head, it will do even more serious damage to your hearing.
I predict that the gun will be a flop.

+1 on Janq's assessment. I agree, and will be anxiously awaiting to see it come into production!
For those into a SBS, again, Janq's assessment is spot on and any price < $1k will be great vs. a REM or Moss SBS. If the expected price is in the $500-$600 range, they are going to sell a lot of shotguns. (KelTec's website states $800 price range but not set yet). Also weight is 6.9 lbs.
I also notice a rail on the bottom, so, no problem mounting a VFG or WML.
And with a bottom ejection like the old Ithica 37's, it's a perfect gun for left handed shooters.
Care to wager a case of 12 ga ammo on that assumption?

I am so glad I postponed a shotgun for the home. this is the ticket. a must have item if like was stated prior, the quality is there.

It would be a bet that you would lose in the most terrible way. You should value your hearing enough to pass on considering a shotgun like this one.
You don't want to end up like me, a few years away from getting Social Security, and having a constant high pitched ringing always present in your left ear.
Even using deluxe ear plugs, with expensive ear muffs over them, I still come home every time now from the shotgun range with a loud buzzing in my left ear. It typically even makes it difficult for me to get to sleep at night on days that I shoot my shotguns.
You should want to avoid a fate like mine, and having to live like I have to with this. I now target shoot with an autoloading shotgun with a 31" barrel on it. I've thus now got the muzzle of my gun about as far away from my head as it is practical to do now. But that cannot do anything at all to undo the damage that has already been done. So despite doing everything possible to mitigate the muzzle blast of my shotgun now, it still aggravates my condition.
My doctor tells me that the fact that I am right handed, and my right ear is perfectly fine, definitely points to my shotgun shooting over the years as being the cause of my hearing and tinnitus problems in my left ear.
If amputating my left ear would get rid of this, I would gladly have it done.
Just look at how ridiculously close the muzzle of this 12 gauge is to the shooter's head:
