I have a CZ 550 American in 6.5x55 and can't say enough about it, the quality is there along with the accuracy and good looks. It will out shoot my browning A-Bolt beyond 300 yds. All in all I will buy a other, I am waiting for them to do a run of .338 Federals

I just bought a CZ 452 in .22lr and it is AWESOME. They are top notch rifles!

Awesome rifles... I just bought two more this week. As the secret aint so secret anymore, the price is sure to climb on them.

They seem to put some seriously nice lumber some of their rifles also at least compared to others.

All I can tell you is I purchased this rifle used and is the finest I've owned. My first CZ. The wood is too nice for the woods, and the single set trigger is too easy...squeeze, snap, bang. Very accurate as well after scoped. No complaints.

They're like Lays potato chips. "Can't have just one" The CZ 550 FS in .308 is on the list, as well as one chambered in .223.

For a Defensive Rifle, I would recommend that you consider an AR-15 in .223 Remington instead.

Wrong answer based on an incorrect assumption. Nothing in the question implied "defensive rifle."

A 452 is on my list to fulfill my bolt action .22 role.

From what I have seen, a center-fire CZ would be very nice to have too. I think CZ rifles and pistols have traditionally be under-rated.

I spent some time at the CZ display when the NRA convention was in Phoenix. The bolt on their rimfires works with just two fingers and feels like it's on ball bearings. A friend of mine played with one at an Appleseed shoot last fall and was similarly impressed. The 452 has been discontinued, but there are still enough around on dealer racks. I'm waiting to see some reviews on the replacement 455.

And then there were the big bores - I think the one with the business end shown below is in the half-inch range, like .505 Jeffries (Express model).

No kidding about the nice wood on those guns!

This is the Defensive Rifles Forum. The topic here is supposed to be about discussing Defensive Rifles and Shotguns.

There is a General Firearms Forum for discussing other types of guns.
