Oregon Ducks Football Team Gets Its Own Custom AR-15!! -- PIC

University of Oregon Ducks Athletes and their fans can now have their very own custom AR-15 to celebrate their success. STS Arms is now making a "Ducks Special" AR-15 to commemorate the school's athletics.

Doesn't this rifle look totally awesome?? Cerakote was used to color the rifle.

I don't know why, but I kinda like it. They should have their logo stamped on the lower somehow, do it up 100%.

What? No diamond pattern or duck feathers or ghost flames?

I can't stand their uniforms let alone that rifle.

Well, at least it isn't Blue and Yellow, as in from the state up North.

Now if it was scarlet and grey, I might be interested.

Well--U of Oregon is where I went to college, started my Army career and found my bride of 37+ years. Still not sure that I'd want a yellow AR, BUT I WILL try and send the picture to some of my liberal (AKA gun-haters) old classmates...

Probably couldnt for a number of reasons, one of which being licensing.

I am a huge fan of the Ducks, but I would not do that to an AR......maybe if it was forest green with a few yellow highlights.

Tragic part is with all that work to honor the school, anyone found on school property with that would likely be arrested, beaten, shot or all 3.

I guess one has to be from your part of the nation to understand why anything related to the Ducks football colors are cool. But, I do like the wings on the jersey shoulder. However, I'm not a fan of that rifle color.
May we never forget those in uniform who protect us night and day in lands far away. And those in all wars who paid the supreme sacrifice in defense of our country. May God Bless our Troops and First Responders.

Very true. Firearms of any type are strictly banned from the campus. Students, teachers, even the Campus Security Guards don't have them. The entire school is a gun free zone.

I've carried concealed on campus a few times when attending basketball games. Since I'm not a student, they cannot expel me. And since I'm not a teacher, they cannot fire me either.

If I ever got caught, though, I guess they could ban me from the campus, and then have me arrested for no trespassing if I tried to come on campus again.

First of all, Greeting Fellow "Orygonian" :) Second of all, I'm sure they would try anyway, But since you are not a student, and you are not a teacher, there is absolutely nothing they can do to you for CC on campus. Their gun ban is in direct violation of Oregon's Pre-emption law and you are specifically exempted from it in the ORS. See ORS 166.360(4) for Definition of a Public Building and ORS 166.370(3)(d) for your exemption.

And according to Oregon University here Proscribed Conduct - Weapons Policy | Department of Public Safety :

    OAR 580-022-0045(3) specifically states: Procedures to impose applicable sanctions may be instituted against any person engaging in any of the following proscribed conduct: (3) Possession or use of firearms, explosives, dangerous chemicals, or other dangerous weapons or instrumentalities on institutionally owned or controlled property, unless expressly authorized by law, Board, or institutional rules (for purposes of this section, absence of criminal penalties shall not be considered express authorization);

Disclaimer: But as usual, this is just my opinion and is in no way to be considered as such. I'm not a lawyer, nor do I play one on TV. I did not stay at a Holiday Inn Express Last night. You are responsible for knowing and applying all Federal, State, and Local laws, rules, ordinances, etc. etc. to your personal situation.
