Heard they were trying to sneak it in a bill, but then I read this.

The ATF just released some paperwork on the ability to import certain semi-automatic shotguns, there was a thread on here about it.
Reading their report it looks like the Saiga 12 could be a target.
Prices went from 400s to 600 plus from Friday to Monday according to a FFL friend of mine. Mags are out of sight high and mostly unavailable.
All the hype caused panic buying almost two weeks ago...days before the report was released.
I read the report, will believe it when I see it (if import bans happen).
Still glad I picked up a couple more AGP mags on sale over the holidays and have a spare S12.

The Saiga in its current form is fine. It meets all of the criteria that is required to be imported.
If it is banned,it will be because of the fact that it can take a large capacity feeding device. Until now, this has never been an issue, but with the current Administration of gun hating fanatics from the President on down, they will simply change the English language to mean what ever they want it to mean. Fact of the matter is, they dont want you, me or anyone to own anything that could interfere with their plans of total control.
They dont really have the support that it takes on the State Level to ban everything that they can-so they are looking at ways to eliminate things. It is no mistake that the head of many Federal Agencys are rabid anti-gun fanatics, most of which appear to hate the United States and everything that it stands for.
Yes, at the current moment Saigas are unobtainable.
Hopefully, cooler heads will prevail and they will once again become available soon.
Well hopefully this is a temporary problem.
It'll be as temporary as the Obama Administration.
Over the past few years every time the supply of Saiga's run low (or out) there is panic buying and price gouging.
Eventually a new shipment comes in the country (regardless of which distributer) and everything settles down. The couple hundred dollar days are over, but there really is no need to buy at the inflated price.
Patience.
