IMO putting an ACOG on the AK is like putting lipstick on a pig.

I've got an AK (Chinese) that will shoot very well out to 3 to 400 yards. The problem is not the rifle but my ablity. There are some junk AKs with shot out barrels and poor assembly but the 7.62x39 round in a well built AK is very capable alot further out then many people think. Many people still think of the 1911 as a very inaccurate pistol but those who shoot them know better.

I can shoot to 300 yds with iron sights. If you need an optic to shoot 300yds then a much less expensive optic will do. What Mr. Suarez has listed is a super expensive custom AK with an aftermarket mount (<- read even more money). Then we add in the cost of the 1K+ ACOG. My guess is you are looking at a package in the neighborhood $2200.

My point in the lipstick/pig post is that for $2200 most of us could come up with a nice rig that can ring the steel out past 500 yards. And I would guess that almost no one would start with the AK platform.

I haven't gotten my hands on one yet, but reportedly it comes back to zero just fine.

If you'll excuse me for a moment, I need to go wipe the drool off of my chin.

Yeah, but...but...but think of all the money you'll save shooting that cheap 5.45mm ammo!!
