    Magpul BUIS

    Hi,

I just recently installed these guys on my practice AR (S&W M&P 15-22) and I have to say that I am not impressed at all. For some reason every where I read the front post is really high. Is this the case or is it just me?

The front post is height adjustable - have you tried that?

Beyond that, all I can say is that you get what you pay for. There's better stuff out there for primary sights. Remember that the BU in 'BUIS' stands for "back up."

if you run an Aimpoint or EOT on your AR, consider a LaRue QD mount so you can swap between the rimfire trainer and the big boy, and just take note of the windage and elevation adjustments between the two. That's the beauty of that mount!

Yeah I have tried to adjust the front post and that is my biggest complaint. On my other rifles it's pretty close to flush, but using these magpuls the front post is so high that it almost throws me off.

As far as the quality, I don't really have an issue because they are polymer. They seem to be made okay and should be pretty rugged.

I'm very satisfied with my magpul bius. I'm running it behind an aimpoint. And it's dead on for me

I've got 2 sets of Magpul BUIS, one in black, the other in foliage green. Neither of them has a front sight post issue that I'm aware of, and both sets have been perfectly accurate on multiple weapons.

I don't know what to tell you.

Do you have it mounted on the gas block or the rail?
