Foreward Assist importance?
SO how important is a forward assit on the AR?
Talked to a Marine that served several years in Iraq, he mentioned all the time he spent behind the Military issued AR in combat, he never had to use it.
He also added "if the round doesn't seat to the point that you actually need to use the forward assit you probly shouldn't fire that round"....he said "just cycle to the next one".
He then said "even if it didn't seat and you used the forward assit, fired, it could cause a "hang" on extraction, if it doesn't go in right it might not come out right."
I thank him for his service and for the insight.
So I come to the boards to get several other thoughts on the importance of the forward assit.
