I have one of the new tactical models, I traded in an old Mini for it and it is like a completely different gun. I prefer it to my ARs in every respect except magazine changes. The tactical model is very accurate.
    Glock 36, 30SF, 31, 32, 21 Gen4 - Carry guns
Ruger Mini-14 and Remington 870 by the bed both wearing Surefire lights.
Always carry a knife-they are handy to have
Always carry a reload-You probably won't need it but it is good insurance .
Always carry a light- To see in the dark

I have a newer model Mini-14 in stainless. I put a 1X red dot on an Amegaranges scout optics rail and I can shoot 2" goups at 100 yards with my aging eyes. That's with a 5 MOA red dot size, too!

I also put a .040" gas port bushing in it to keep brass from ejecting into the next county! The factory bushing was .100" and the gun would sling brass 30 feet! Now, brass lands just 6 to 10 feet away.

CTR, When I put on a new scope I always start at 15 to 20 yards and work my way back. It takes less rounds and less time. If you get on the paper at 20 zero in for that distance then add elevation as you move back. Try that next time.

Thank you, I will! It is my first scope and a learning experience.

zombie rifle1.JPGI love my Mini, It is a new all-weather 580 series ranch rifle. I can keep it at 1.5 in. at 100 yds with the iron sights and it seems to like 60 gn bullets. With the addition of a new 2-7x Burris scope my wife got for me a expect to stretch it out a bit. I cant wait for zombie season to begin.
