What is your Home Defense Rifle?

As alot of people have mentioned there isn't mush of a reason to use a rifle for home defense. How big is your house? My sig will take care of any uninvited guests around my place.

I guess if you had a big spread in the middle of nowhere. Or maybe when the zombie take over starts I'll run to my safe and grab my slr-95 , great rifle. Just shot it a few hours ago.

My SHTF Defense Rifle is another story-
A pristine Ishapore Enfield Model 2A1 Bolt Action Rifle made in 1968 in 7.62 MM NATO Caliber. Sighted in for mansize targets at 500 meters with iron sights. Considering scoping it for shooting pumpkin size targets at 500 meters.
1000 rounds in stripper clips. 2000 rounds boxed.

Ummmmm I have a Ruger Mini-14 with the factory folding stock and some loaded mags ready to go, but it wouldn't be the first thing I'd grab. I'd probably go for the Benelli M121 (precursor to the M1 Super 90) Besides the mini-14, I'd just as soon go for my Winchester M94 "Trapper" in the .30-30 and use my thutty thutty Mag Safe loads.

Remington 870 loaded with slugs. If they get past the 260 lbs of dog, I want something more than 00 buck. If the shottie fails, well, I've got a tomohawk by the bed. We'll see if I can do my ancestors proud.:)

NOT appropriate for every home situation; but, I'm a strong believer in never bringing a pistol to a fight where a rifle could do better.

for me the SHTF senario is the aftermath of a Hurricane.
Then it's my mini-14 and a 1911.
The wife has the Mossy 500 and her .357.
So far it's done the trick.

Update -- My 590 SP with heat shield and Surefire ForeEnd is now on layaway. I found one at a local dealer gently used (including the Surefire) for $399! As soon as I sell the CX4 - it's fun and very accurate, but not really practical for my suburban area - the 590 will be sitting by my bed.
