    What to expect

What type of accuracy can I expect from my DM AR once it's built. Assuming quality ammo and a quality build.
    .5 moa, .75 moa, 1 moa?

If it's scoped and fed the "good stuff" I'm hoping it'll produce sub-inch 5-shot groups from the bench at 100 yards for you.

Do let us know how it does after you get to wring it out.

A run of the mill scope with standard crosshairs will subtend one inch at one hundred yards. That means the crosshairs will cover one square inch of target.

That really is all you can expect.

With iron sights, you'll be doing good to stay within 3 inches.

1 moa is the usual, some are better some are worse. To get tighter, you start getting into the extras like better barrels, triggers, and fore grips.

I had to read that twice because I thought it said "sub 5-inch groups from the bench at 100 yards..."

I was giggling for a second.

The Mark 12, which is my basis because it is the issued 5.56 DM rifle, is a 1 MOA rifle. But that is just with one type of ammo, and no playing around to find the perfect load.

In my experience it's going to depend entirely on your choices of "quality" parts & ammo used. A free floated match grade barrel with the appropriate match grade ammunition will easily give sub MOA, a chrome lined service grade barrel with service grade ammunition will usually do 1.5" - 2.0" MOA.
