    Need some Saiga pics.

I just ordered a saiga in 7.62x39. Figured I would build my own. My yugo M70 was giving me trouble so I have enough time working on it. Now I am ready to convert. Was looking to SBR a draco, but the price quotes I was getting were very upsetting. Figure a $500 quality AK is a little more budget friendly.

Can anyone get some pictures up? Looking to get some ideas.

I went to post but realized you wanted 7.62x39 and all I have is a pic of my buddy's 12 gauge… Sorry.
Proven combat techniques may not be flashy and may require a bit more physical effort on the part of the shooter. Further, they may not win competition matches, but they will help ensure your survival in a shooting or gunfight on the street. ~Paul Howe

There's actually a fifth shell in the air, but it's above the frame...

Here's mine that I converted last year. I posted a thread when I did it.

That is a very nice rifle . I have thought many times about converting a Saiga, but I am not sure if a dare to do it.

I have got to dig up those old threads when I have a chance. Remember there being a lot of info. I want to put more traditional handguards on but it looks like you need to replace some parts first. That's the only part I need to figure out.

Hoping it shows up soon. Need to test that and my hugo out for function. Then its time to shop.

Thanks . The conversion isn't difficult. A Dremel is really helpful.

I found a couple videos online, and there's a lot of info here, and the Saiga forums.

Rigrat and zero were quite helpful, too

The 45rd Molot Bakelite mags sure make the 5.45 rifle look different.

Want to do future ones in Russian red wood and plum.

Saiga 5.45 (AK74) with just basic Tapco furniture, it works well and kept my budget below $500 total for the build. The rifle is tough, super simple and works extremely well. Moves a lot of lead fast and on target.

The conversion is really simple if you have just basic handyman skills. A weekend afternoon job that is pretty simple and straight forward.

This is a Saiga 7.62 rifle with the Tapco T6 stock set. It looks a bit ungainly and I have since done the conversion on this rifle but the T6 stock set actually works well from an ergonomic, handling and LOP standpoint and I could shoot the rifle very effectively with this easy to install setup.

When I leave the home port:
S&W 642 Airweight, Ruger SP 101, Colt Detective Spec., CZ RAMI, Kahr PM9, Kahr CW40, S&W Model 10-7, Glock 30, 19, and 26, Browning Hi Power, CZ82, Colt Commander, Dan Wesson PM7, Ruger LCP
