Looks WAYYYY better than the Slide-Fire stock. I wouldn't mind buying one just to "play" with at the range. Even though an NFA full-auto AK costs thousands, you'd think a few hundred wouldn't be too bad.... I still don't find it worth it for that cost. It has no real use other than to make you smile. I can find other ways to smile for under $450. I still want one :)
I agree the price for these is a bit tough to swallow. I would think as the popularity grows and the initial tooling costs are recovered, the prices would start to ease a bit. Perhaps not. Either way, for many this is as close to owning a machine gun as they'll ever get given the outrageous prices NFA items like full-auto AKs and ARs command these days.
It's a shame, other than exclusivity, what makes a full auto AKM or AR cost so much? Nothing.
If I had the money to buy a whole separate AK in 5.45, I'd get this stock and keep it on there. Like you said, it looks like it belongs. The slide-fire stocks for both the AR and AK just look out of place and cheesy IMO. For my "serious" AK, wood does just fine.
Good review. Always enjoy them.
