Its a custom build, DPMS upper and internals, colt barrel, rocky river grips, the lower reciever was made by a local class 3 ndealer in my home town (larsen arms?) he said he had less then 200rdns through it and judging by the markings on it Id say its true.
Paid $700, I was about to start collecting parts to build my own but I figured I couldnt go wrong for a shooter.

The only UTG parts I have is on a 10/22. I'd avoid UTG on a real rifle if at all possible. You probably won't have any problems if you plink at the range and don't use the rifle hard.
Why do you want a carry handle over a flat top with rear folding sight? Or even a rear fixed sight? Carry handles don't make ANY sense to me..... at all. I would on want a carry handle for one very specific reason. And that is if I decided to buy or build a vintage M16 clone, and that is it. As far as REAL use, I see no use for a carry handle.
My M&P came with a Troy rear sight. I've stuck with it. I like that MBUS will flip up with the press of a button. The Troy sight is a little tough to flip down quickly but what I find most annoying is that if the small aperture is in use, the rear sight will not flip down all the way. I have yet to use the large aperture. I'd like to keep my rear sight on the small aperture but flipped down.
I am using the Magpul MBUs on my primary AR. They are strictly Back Ups for my RDS though. I have the Troy folding dioptic for an up coming build.
If you plan on going with optics of any kind in the future, stay away from a carry handle and go with one of the low profile folding rear sights.
UTG is airsoft garbage and nothing that they market will hold up to any real use. I have heard rumors that they are starting a better line under a new name but I haven't seen any details about it at all.
Just because you have a fixed front sight does not mean that you have to use high mounts for optics. A true co-witness with a RDS is just fine and with magnification the FSB blurs out and is not distracting at all.

Backups is exactly where i'm thinking I want to be, some semi decent backups on the rear...don't I need a different front sight with that type of troy sight?
I've had some BSA reddot optics on other rifles but not sure on how they'll mount up on my mine, I have some researching to do.
