Dunno...I've heard of more "bayonet charges" than "bayonet retreats".

Ever since picking up a Remington 1903A3 at a gun show fairly recently, I am a believer. Best bolt gun in my collection. Always nice to see pics of them.

They are very strong. I was lucky to get one of the CMP's 3 years ago, and a heavy barreled National Match with Lyman sights. Charlie Petty told me it was most likely a 1930's N M rifle. I wish I wold have had it along.
Where we were has a downward slope to Mexico, about 2-3 miles away. Pretty darn good ambush position if necessary.

Maybe I am missing something, but this gentleman appears to be shooting a rifle match, not shooting in self-defense.

I could see shooting one of my IDPA clubs defensive rifle side matches with a bolt-action, but that doesn't mean it would be my primary defensive rifle.

Not a match. We were right on the border with Mexico in Bisbee, AZ.
