KEL-TEC KSG 12 Gauge Shotgun, 18.5" Cyl. Bore Barrel, 15 Rd 2.75", 13 Rd 3" - TheGunSource
I never shot one, but would like to hear if anyone has first hand with it also. Interesting but not for me. I like my Saiga 12
I handled one today at the LGS. It was much shorter than I envisioned. Its got an 18 inch barrel, but with the bull pup design its actually pretty handy. I like the slide switch that is right at the front of the trigger guard which makes it easy to cycle the gun.
Pointability was excellent and very quick. It has a Picatinny rail so that you can mount an optic if you want or even a set of sights. I'm thinking that one of the newer Eotech XPS2 would be a natural for this.
Because it is short and handy, it would make an excellent truck gun and for that matter a great gun to carry if you were backpacking.
The switch that switches magazine tubes is easy to manipulate, but you must turn the gun over to use it. I wish they would have figured out a way to be able to make it more ergonomic so that it could be used instantly, then one could instantly switch from buck to slugs or vice versa.
I think its a serious contender for the home defense uses. It short enough to not be a hindrance when clearing corners and although the mag capacity should never be needed in a home defense scenario, 15 rounds of anything is going to be tough to deal with.
I can see me owning one.
I handled one the other day, when a customer brought his in. Felt good and functional.
Thanks a lot! I'm pretty sure this will be my next purchase!
Doesn't Sixto have one of these?
Sixto "HAD" one,IIRC he wasn't that impressed with it,felt like it wasn't that well made and I think he sold it for a little profit.I think we need to remember that what one person may feel is a decent gun somebody else may not,it also depends on the kind of use a weapon will get from each user
I don't know if anybody here likes nutnfancy but he has a video of himself and his friend shooting the KSG on YouTube. They seemed to like it. Here is the video, it's in 4 parts.

The two major LGSs in my area can't keep any in stock for me to get a look at; as soon as they come in, they are gone!

I think it had more potential if it had been initiated by a company other then KT.
Pass.
Yeah - bolt a metal rail to a plastic rail that's already known to be weak.
Let us know how that goes.
