    Need some feedback

I am looking at some AR builds, mainly in .22 just so I can afford to shoot it and the only purpose really is for fun. Thoughts on this one:RUGER 10/22 22LR I-TAC SS/FLD STK 25RD @ Vance Outdoors Inc.

Well the Ruger 10/22 is definitely not an AR platform. It is an excellent semi-automatic .22 LR.

If you are looking for an .22LR AR platform gun, I would look at the S&W M&P 15-22. The can be had for well under $500.

I have been looking hard at the new Ruger 10/22 Take Down model myself.

Thanks for the quick reply. The price is what caught my attention on this one. My LGS does not have M&Ps right now, and I would have to sell one of my guns to buy it where one in this price i would not.

Well there's nothing wrong with the Ruger 10/22 tactical you posted. It has good reviews. And a lot of people consider the 10/22 the standard in which other .22 LR are judged. As I said, I'm looking seriously at the new Take Down version as my first 10/22.

I'm sure you won't be disappointed with the one you are looking at. I was merely pointing out it's not based on the AR platform. It's still a sweet gun.

I think a 10/22 is a great choice. I like the M&P 22, but I'm pretty dedicated to ARs as well.
Proven combat techniques may not be flashy and may require a bit more physical effort on the part of the shooter. Further, they may not win competition matches, but they will help ensure your survival in a shooting or gunfight on the street. ~Paul Howe
