    My 1st AR!!!

    I couldn't resist it any longer so I splurged on my first defensive rifle. Whaddya think? S&W M&P15T got a pretty decent deal. The main use will be fun and home defense. I don't know much about the platform so any useful information would be appreciated. What would you add?

    Nice! I know the feeling your having, went through it when I got the SR556. Wait till the "bigger caliber" bug gets you.

    Buy lots of hi capacity mags (if allowed in your state) as well as spare parts (bolt/bolt carrier/bolt parts/firing pin/recoil spring/etc.) as you never know when the Obama administration may put a permanent importation ban on Assault Weapons again and make it permanent. Prepare for the worst.

    I went through about 120 rounds today. Should you clean between every range visit or should you reach a specific round count before cleanings?
