My AR finally together! Work in progress.

I sold my RRA CAR A4 some time ago and immediatelly regreted it. I began buying parts as money allowed and finally, today I received the upper so I put it together and here is what I ended up with.

LMT Lower with 2 stage trigger
    JSE Upper
    UTG quad rail
    Magpull shorty foregrip
    Eotech 516
Nothing over board but I really enjoy like it!

Still have to hit the range but I like it so far. I want to add a few things like iron sights and a sling but that will come with time.

Very nice! Just the way an AR should be...light and simple. Only things left IMO are back up sites and small light. Looks great!

Thanks, that was the idea behind this one...keep it light. The next project will be a long distance rifle so that one might take a little longer.

Now why are you going to shoot your poor TV? Just kidding. Nice rifle. Have you used that shorty foregrip yet? I was thinking of getting that or the magpul xtm handstop for my AR.

I tried both on the rifle on my local store and I bought this one because it fit my hand better. The long one looked akward (to me) with the short quad rail.

IMHO, you are leaps and bounds above your old rifle.
    Nice.

Good looking rifle. Shoot it well.
The situation will NEVER BE THE WAY YOU WANT, it WILL BE THE WAY IT IS. You must be FLEXIBLE ENOUGH TO ADAPT and just "DEAL WITH IT".

Thanks, the LMT trigger sure feels better than the RRA. Cant wait to shoot it.

    Looks great.

Why did you pick the components that you did?

Agree with above. BUIS, Light, & Sling and you are GTG.

Initially, I was going to buy a M&P but I wanted a decent trigger and it just happened that my LGS had the LMT lower at a decent price so I bought it and put it away. As I saved some more money for the rest, I was debating if buying a LMT upper but it came down to budget. I sacrificed the LMT upper for the JSE, which has pretty good reviews at a very affordable price. This allowed me to buy a better (or at least what I wanted) sight on the EOTECH 516. I was going to go with a 512 but the lower battery life pushed me towards the 516. I am very impressed with the JSE quality so far. I inspected all the bolt components, fit and finish and it looks and feels great. I still have to assess accuracy but for the intended purpose (up to 100 plinking), I think it will be just fine.

Take a 10 shot group and post your target.

Very nice! Always a good feeling when the last part(s) for a new AR build are in place :)
We'll be waiting for the first range report!

I took the rifle to the range today and I was very impressed with its function and accuracy. After only 9 rounds for zeroing, I was able to get close enough so I can place some shot groups. I only shot at 50 meters with the Eotech 516 without magnification and resting the rifle only on the magazine. I shot Remington Accutip and the cheap American Eagle(black and white box) with no percieved accuracy difference. Nedless to say, I am extremely happy with the end result. I bought the sling setup so I will install it tonight after work.
