What's your budget? What's your intended purpose for the optic?
A man fires a rifle for many years, and he goes to war. And afterward he turns the rifle in at the armory, and he believes he's finished with the rifle. But no matter what else he might do with his hands - love a woman, build a house, change his son's diaper - his hands remember the rifle.

+1 on Aimpoint PRO. It's what I use on my LMT. Rugged, great price and you can leave it on for 3 years before the battery becomes depleted. Not that you'd leave it on for 3 years, but if you so chose to, you could.

Another vote for the Aimpoint Pro. If $400 is out of your budget, the Vortex Sparc and StrikeFire can be had for between $169.99-200.00.

I am thinking in the 300.00 range is about what I can justify. This would be a home defense rifle, but want something fun to shoot. I am not afraid of paying for quality just want to know what the options are. Thanks for the help

I've had great lock with a Vortex Strikefire. I've really never read anything bad about them.

I acquired an Aimpoint T1 for my Noveske Carbine. The H1 would do just as fine. Battery life is what gives the smaller Aimpoints an advantage. It can be kept on for years. These are very lightweight and require a small footprint on the rail.

I've used a Vortex SPARC on a few of my AR's.... Got the job done. No comparison to a real Micro, but got the job done.
