    Nice looking rifle. Enjoy!

About the best-looking (to me) has been an early Armalite. Simple, clean lines, no extraneous protrusions or features to get in the way of the basic job. Someone at the range had brought it in for a bit of range work. It was a shorty, select-fire AR-10 or AR-15 (can't recall), with a ~11" bbl. Nice gun.

Thank God. I thought you wanted to know which was the best looking AR...!And sorry to break it to you, but this is the best looking AR ever.......
Proven combat techniques may not be flashy and may require a bit more physical effort on the part of the shooter. Further, they may not win competition matches, but they will help ensure your survival in a shooting or gunfight on the street. ~Paul Howe

Good gods. "Hey everyone, look at my !"

I'd rather see "Hey everyone, look at my sub 2 MOA 10+ round 100 yard group I shot with my POS rifle and surplus ammo!"

Can you tell I just went through another carbine class?

Outshout (accuracy, not speed) everyone there with my Mk12 and Hubble Telescope, and it was worse (186 out of 300 - 10@ 50 kneeling, 75 sitting, 100 prone, no time restrictions) than with my 16" and Aimpoint PRO (270's). Half the shooters there - "It's not fair, he has a scope!". Just makes me see better, not shoot better.

It's the shooter, not the equipment.

OP - Good choice in rifle and optic, that will be a reliable combination. Now go take a class or three and learn how to properly use it. Once you figure out what your weak points are, work on them until they are your strong points. Mine happen to be kneeling and sitting at the moment. Finally got the hold over at contact range (under 25) figured out.

Jon - I thought you painted that thing.

Thanks for the spelling correction. Completely agree, you SHOULD BE proud of your new AR, and it IS valuable. Please do ABSOLUTELY NOTHING to amuse me. I'm not inclined to post anything on YouTube, never have before. I'm just amused that you'd choose to assemble the off-road 4X4 of modern rifles and then discuss it like a Picasso. It's like treating a Siberian Husky like a...Shi Zhu. Go ahead and keep little Snookums clean & show-groomed if you want.

I think some of Jon's painted guns look super cool. They look like a tool, just like they should.

atctimmy is still trying to work up the courage to paint one. I have the paint and the space to do it in. I just don't have the fortitude just yet.

    Ghost Tracker.....

I guess I'm not smart enough to get your point or you mine. I'm simple proud of my new gun and wanted others to see it and maybe like it too.

If you don't like it, that really is ok and if your point is just to be mean thats ok too. Its a public forum, feel free to continue.

I've seen and read enough to know an Ar can take a lot of punishment but I don't need to shove mud into mine to re-verify it. How did your ar perform full of dirt? If thats your bag... enjoy. It's not mine.

    Take care,
    Hal

I think what he is saying is that he thinks your rifle looks like a tool. His point is that we don't usually talk about hammers or shovels like they are pretty. We usually talk about what we did with a hammer or shovel and that is what's pretty.

Your rifle does look nice, but I'd guess most of us want to know if she shoots nice.
