without shooting it, its just a 4 1/4 lb paperweight.
You gain strength, courage, and confidence by every experience in which you really stop to look fear in the face. You are able to say to yourself, "I have lived through this horror. I can take the next thing that comes along." . . . You must do the thing you think you cannot do. Eleanor Roosevelt

Bushmaster took over the manufacture of the Carbon 15 maybe 6 or 7 years ago. It was a lower-cost AR and the light weight - perhaps appropriate to the recoil of the 5.56? - was a selling point. It's a current model in the Bushie catalog, so I wouldn't be too afraid to shoot it.

Looks very cool and I agree with Mulle46, they are meant to be shot, I don't own safe queens.

Unless of course it breaks with no manufacturer support, and then it's a 4-1/4 lb paperweight that you can't sell.

Ummm...sort of, this is all I saw. Of course the receiver may be the same while the stock and forend are different. Also, notice none of the catalog models have a full length rail.

Oh, and BTW, speaking of recoil, that thingy on the front of the barrel really works - it's actually a compensator. I was at the range with it a long time ago and the compensator was loose, so I removed it to see what it shot like. The recoil was surprising. It wasn't what you'd call heavy, but it was a lot stouter than a standard AR, by far in fact. I put the compensator back on and it really tamed it down.
