Hey guys. I purchased my first AR a few days after the election. It's a M&P 15 OR. I just got around to replacing the stock handguard with a 4 rail handguard.
After installing the new handguard, I noticed that the rail did not line up with the rail on top of the gas block. I looked further back, and it is lined up perfectly with the rail leading back to the charging handle. It was almost impossible to notice before putting on the new rail, but now it sticks out. A problem that I have is that I have troy folding battle sights that will surely not line up with this much of a cant.
I am assuming that this is something that would likely need to be corrected by S&W, but I thought I get an opinion from you guys first. What do you think?
