There is a modest level of profitability built in to those prices for sure.!! Ouch! But if it is what the market bears then I say there you go.
It's not a problem til they make it one!

Looks like they more than double the price. I would wait. Keep checking your local Wally World as they get shipments in. I am hoping they do not raise their prices. God Bless

Nope. The last one around here in captivity went for 2500.

I had a banker that I do gun business with approach me about deal. He wanted to work with me where he took about 50K and bought some AR's. Trouble is, if I had 50,100 or 250K it wouldnt matter, I cant get them.

    So there ya have it.

I believe that the panic buying will abate, but when prices settle they won't be what they were before.

C'mon, who really didn't see this coming? I pondered on buying 2 or 3 Colt ARs for when this happened, but I couldn't justify incurring debt to do so.

Now, what I didn't perceive was the run on Pmags, I bought 2 or 3 about a month ago for $12. Now they're $60 and up!

I seen it coming and I'm not SOL. Just amazed at the speed and scale of the AR purchases.

Yeah we'll see if they will stand by the "Always Low Prices" on that stuff! A co-worker just called and said he went by a LGS for his area and they're out of every box of .223 and raised prices on .40
    26.99 for a box of 50!!

Just got back from Buds Gun Shop. They had stacks of ARs made locally that were selling for 699.00 every day. Now they are asking 1200.00

I had to laugh. People are so damn stupid.

^ Yup. If people quit panic-buying at these prices, the problem would be solved very quickly

12-29-2012 at 9am this morning I bought another AR 15 it is an Adams Arms Huldra Gas piston with a great case and two mags 999 that is the same price it has sold for all year.
The lowest it was this year was 949. I had bought 2 for Christmas presents about 5 months ago. They are a fine AR and worth the price these are not bushmaster level stuff. I had no need of the weapon but as long as the price was right why not. Always a birthday coming for some one around here.
They currently limit sales to 1 a day and 4 mags a day. They had no AK's in stock
    Fleet Farm.
Don't pay those phony prices yet.

Well in all fairness to the people buying, at least for some of them, this may be their only chance to get an AR. While I agree that people shouldn't generally panic buy for hoarding purposes, it would be somewhat short-sighted to assume that none of this legislation will make it into law.

Back at Thanksgiving I shot my buddy's Sig "Assault Rifle" that he had just bought for $900 plus a scope and a couple accessories. I priced one just like his this week and it was $2,500. Crazy.

I hate to think what that pre-ban HK-93 I lost in the boating accident would go for today.
