Military Classic
I picked up this beauty yesterday... it's a '54 Springfield M1 Garand. Based on serial, part no's and date stamps it's likely still the original receiver barrel combo. The crown is perfect and the muzzle gauges a 0 on the CMP gauge. Since it was produced after the wars it probably didn't see much use. Based on the cartouche sizes and fonts it looks to be an H&R stock but for the correct year. The wood is in very nice condition with some character.

Beautiful! You have me interested. I hate to ask but how much?

Nice. I don't hate to do it... tell us what that puppy cost.

You lucky [insert appropriate verbage here]. That's a nice gun. Good find.
I'm in favor of gun control -- I think every citizen should have control of a gun.

Careful - that is an evil semiautomatic assault rifle. It gets up and walks around your house at night looking to create mischief.
Beautiful rifle!

I paid $850.
It did wear a bayonet a few times as the lug definitely shows signs of use.

Beautiful rifle!
I'm very careful not to feed it after midnight. ;)

LOL
Yeah, I tried not to get it in, and it wasn't in frame but ended up there anyway.

Now cut that out! Y'all are going to make me call the CMP and spend money I don't have.
