    I have a Savage Model 99C in .308 Win that was given to me by my dad many, many years ago. The 4 + 1 capacity is not ideal for defense purposes, but with a extra mag (which I need to find and buy), it would do.

    My favorites are 1894 marlins, they are for pistol ammo lever guns. 38 spl, 357 mag, 44 40,44mag,and 45 colt. I'm still looking for one in 32 20, or 25 20. DR

    I have a Winchester Model 94 Trapper 16 inch barrel in .44 Magnum. It makes for a very handy rifle for stalking deer in the thick cedar thickets where I hunt when I leave my treestands. It also doubles as my emergency home invasion "Den Defense Gun" in the unlikely event that someone breaks in as we are watching TV in the family room. It resides in a custom rifle rest my taxidermist made for me as part of my 9 point buck's wall mount. Nine rounds of 240 grain soft points always at the ready. If there is a bump in the night while we are asleep, I have a Winchester model 1300 defender pump loaded with 7 rounds of 00 buck in the tube with 6 more on a side saddle. I apologize for bringing up a shotgun in a lever gun thread!
    Current handguns: Glock models 19, 22C, 23, 27, 29, & 36; Kimber Pro CDP and Polymer Custom; Kahr PM9 & CW9; S&W models 6906, 386PD, 66; Taurus 85 Ultralite Ti; Browning Buckmark;

    Former handguns: S&W 4"686, 4" 620 & Sigma .380, Taurus 617 Ti, Kimber Pro Eclipse, Walther P22, Glock 30 & 33.

    For unscoped use, I prefer the '94 Winchester. It just carries better for me. If I was to scope a lever action, I would definitely go with the Marlin 336.

    1894CS - .38/.357 Stainless
    1894SS - .44/.44 Mag Stainless

    I've lucked out and have both, each with JM Proof marks.
