    Question for those knowledgeable, mine is a Izhmash Saiga. I hear others talk about Arsenal AK's. What's the difference? Thanks.

    From Wikipedia;

    OJSC IzhMash has repeatedly claimed that the majority of manufacturers produce AK-47s without a proper license from IZH.[69][70] The Izhevsk Machine Tool Factory acquired a patent in 1999,[clarification needed] making manufacture of the newest Kalashnikov rifles, such as AK-100s by anyone other than themselves illegal. However, older variants, such as AK and AKM are public domain due to age of design.
    AK-47 - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

    And from kalishnakov site

    In 1993 within the framework of conversion of a defensive industry of "IZHMASH" Open Joint Stock Company developed the self-loading hunting carbine "Saiga" on the basis of the Kalashnikov submachine guns.

    Thanks Oneshot. I meant to say I hear of people talking about Arsenal Saiga AKs and Izhmash Saiga AKs.

    Congrats on the new addition. ;-)

    I'd like to get an AK but the funds won't allow for it now. After the Feinstein/Biden AWB goes through (if it does), who knows if you will still be able to get them?
