I know I will likely pay a premium but I am willing to go a tad bit higher to just get one. If anyone can help me out in my purchase and point me in the right direction feel free to direct message me with the info. I'd like to buy new if possible.

    Thanks All!
All I can say is....."Good Luck". Hope you find what you seek, but if you do, it will be at a price 3-4x what it was a month ago.

Well done on being punctual! Seems that you made a great timing decision as well as gun. I did not listen to that voice, or listened more closely to that of my wifes, and did not buy the 6920 I want when it was at least 1/2 the price.

While I am now sold on the gas piston versions the 6920 is out standing
I was just wondering if you could explain the advantage of a gas piston AR over a direct gas actin AR.

Gas piston runs cooler. All gas is exhausted at the gas block. It does not flow back though the weapon. The weapon stay a lot cleaner. The lube you put on the bolt stays put . Many of the gas piston system offer the ability to adjust the gas exhaust. That allows you more flexibility in ammo for custom loaders.
There is a minor advantage with recoil for follow up shots because of the way the gas is exhausted. Then there is the firing after coming out of the water but I don't think that is much of a concern for most of us.
Go out back to the range fire off a couple hundred rounds, go in clean up is minutes the lower will have no residue in it the BCG most often is just a quick wipe down. If you spent as many years as I have cleaning the m16 you like that part.
Please understand I am not bad mouthing the DI type AR. I own them and would have no problem buying others. All things can be improved and the Gas piston is a big improvement, for those that fire their weapons a lot.

Or you could fire your di and not clean it and not have any problems

It is surely true that you can lead a horse to water but you can't make them drink. Nor can you make them grateful for your efforts.

Awww, a year and seven months isn't much of a necro-thread.

I really hate getting suckered into those revivals of five year old threads. That's moldy and musty.

Oh, and on topic - I picked up an LE6920MP-FDE recently. My first AR, and I'm loving it!

I carry always not because I go places trouble is likely, but because trouble has a habit of not staying in its assigned zone.
