Can 12g slugs be shot through a modified choke? That's the only one I have. But, I can switch-out and use anything because I have a rem-choke barrel. What would you suggest and why?

I have, but I don't know that I'd make a habit of it.
After Googling it, it looks like it depends on the type slug as to the performance you get, but modified seems okay.
Works fine out of my OU with a rifled slug.
It will be fine. Dont shoot slugs with a full choke, eventually you will shoot out the choke size and sacrifice some accuracy. Not that rifled slugs have much accuracy over 50 yds anyways.
Just want to make sure I got this right;
So it is OK to shoot shotgun slugs using a modified choke, and I do not need to get an improved cylinder choke or cylinder choke tube for my 12g shotgun?
As the modified choke will also help tighten up buck shot patterns too.
^ ^ ^ thank you for the confirmation ^ ^ ^
I shoot rifled slugs with a modified choke all the time in my 20 gauge. I bring it deer hunting occasionally when I want to mix it up a bit. I definitely wouldn't shoot sabot slugs with a choke though, it just screams "catastrophic malfunction" to me.
Anyone checked with Dick Cheney? I'd bench rest it with the load your gonna use at the range you deem appropriate..
