At the range the other day a guy had a full size nagant and the M44 with star bayonet. Really cool gun. As you say, and Betty mentioned, it would part the grass and if you were not behind it, you would feel it. Definitely want one. The recoil was more pronounced out of the short barrel, but didn't seem bad. Only shot 10 rds.

I like mine I have a 91/30 M44 and Type 53, they are fun to shoot.
The steel butt plate is for the comfort of their soldiers

No place around here will let you shoot them indoors. But plenty of outdoors. We had a 100y match last weekend for Nagants only.
I will be shooting mine next weekend at 500 meters or 600 yards depending on the range we get on. Just for fun no match.
Fast is fine, but accuracy is everything.

they wont let you shoot them indoors? Its not a cannon...not really any different than someone firing an M1 garand, 1903 Springfield, or any modern 30-06 hunting rifle...

The recoil pad or the rifle? The recoil pad from Amazon and the rifle from The Gun Broker - Clackamas, OR (not the same gun broker online).
Ruger SR1911 in Remora OR XDs45 in Sticky Holster
And Firestorm .38sp Snubby as backup.
