    Mossberg MVP Patrol

I am guessing that this is one of Mossberg's SHOT releases. Any maybe I am a little crazy, but I think I want one.

With a 16.5" barrel, and the ability to take AR magazines, I think it could be a solid base for a scout rifle style platform (although that really requires a .30 cal). Really all it would need is a cantilever style scope mount and a scope meant to be mounted forward. It already has iron sights too.

I think 30 round mags would be a bit much, too much added bulk, but 20 rounders should actually be a good size.

Anyone else have any thoughts on this? Or have you handled one?

I really like the idea of the MVP. Too bad they don't make a left handed gun.

If I were you I'd go with the 18.5 inch gun though over the scout. I like the look of it better.

I'm very intrigued. But I have a feeling part of getting one in the next year or two miiiight involve a deposit of a future born child or something.

Looks like a good alternative to the EBR when they are banned.

Reminds me of the 7615, which I have shot. It is a nice gun and solid concept especially if you have an AR. Rapidly firing a couple of 30 round mags made my arm tried.

I would get the .308 Remington 7600 police carbine if it took either M14 of FAL mags instead of the standard 5 round mag

A gunstore in my state just got a batch of trade in 7615s. I am sure they are gone now. But I had given some hard thought to getting one.

I need to handle one of these Mossbergs to see how the fit and finish is.

Pretty neat concept. Like the ability to be fed from AR Mags. I think a polymer MagPul(do they make 20 rd'ers?)mag would be ideal. I like the Ruger Gunsite Scout, but wish some after-market mags(again MagPuls come to mind)were available. It comes down to what's "your poison"..308 or 223 !

I could see how you would be interested in that. I am thinking that would be the perfect coyote gun, it would be super easy to hop out of the truck for those quick shots.
