Anyone ever use the Butler Creek 25-r magazines for the Ruger 10/22?
...the steel lips models only...not the plastic lips...we've used the 25-rounders...feed well one came apart at the seams literally...
...I'd buy Ruger's 25-rd mags now, though...worth the difference...
I bought a "Hot Lips" (plastic) out of curiosity...
Waste of money. I just stick to Ruger magazines now.
I've been through them ALL.. It's the Ruger brand BX-25 or nothing for me now. Luckily I snagged 3 right after the election.
Those aftermarket off brands are junk. Rimfire ammo is already prone to malfunction. I don't need my mags causing trouble too.
Those Alangator TriMag Triple Magazine Couplers that hold 3 Ruger 10 round mags are good stuff.
You're getting Ruger quality mags just more of them.
Don't waste your money on non Ruger magazines. Prior to Ruger offering the 25 round magazines I wasted enough money on after market junk mags to buy a decent gun. The Ruger 25 round magazines work great.
Yes - don't waste your money.
I shoot a "tactical .22" match once or twice a month and I struggled with juggling 10-round mags at first. I tried the Butler Creek stuff and I can say without hesitation that the Steel Lips are unreliable feeders and Hot Lips are worse. Their mag loader is also marginal. Stick to the Ruger BX-25 mags; back-order them if you can. They're heavier and not transparent, but their reliability is worth it.
