    Dremeled off some of the bayonet lug - do I have to reparkerize barrel?

    On my Mossberg 590, I had some of my bayonet lug dremeled off to make even more clearance for my Surefire light. Had it sanded down pretty good also. (If that makes a difference. ) I have read a few online sources that said to reparkerize or re blue the barrel after you do this. Is this necessary? How does one do this? I did not take off much, check the pics:

    You did a nice clean job. :yup;
    Just buy a small bottle of OXPHO BLUE from Brownell's and keep applying it until it turns black and call it a done deal.

    Just looked up some of that OXPHO...the smallest bottle they had was 10 bucks! What would happen if I didn't do anything to the area I ground off? One of my friends said to just hit it with some rustoleum, would that work as well?

    Edit: Also, would I just need to re-do the bottom part where I had cut off the lug or refinish the whole barrel?
