I was looking at the factory M1A mount but I know there have to be better ones out there. Thanks.

I've got a Brookfield Precision mount and really like it, but they are nearly impossible to find. Something that looks similar and claims to be better is the Sadlak mount. Add a nice sent of rings (I've got Leupold Mark IV) and you will have a very nice setup.

I had the same question which I asked on the M1A forum. The overwhelming opinion seem to be a Basset mount.

How about one from Springfield. Here for 117 bucks. Not bad.

The Arms #18 mount is a strong performer. Being one of the lowest sitting mounts available, the need for a cheek riser is virtually eliminated.

What we've got here is failure to communicate.
