I thought this was a joke until I actually looked at it. I would never build my own, but the second link looks like an excellent guide for someone who would

I assembled mine from a kit (upper already built) and it took an hour with hand tools and youtube.

    Very easy to do!

Assembly can be fun. I have done two lowers . Maybe a full upper assembly will be next.

Very few build and AR a lot of people assemble one from parts. Big difference. Putting the puzzle together is not hard.
Care needs to be taken when installing Barrel nut to upper receiver or you will damage the weapon. I high recommend you get a block designed to hold it correctly. IF your only doing one or two you do not need a fancy gunsmith setup but you do need the vise block. Or it will not end well for many. It does not take much to warp an Upper receiver. You do not need to buy the CD's or book the videos are free all over the net.
When doing the lower you have a few spring that like to get lost by dropping or fly across the room.
Did this one last weekend for no other reason than I had most of the parts and picked up that last two. This is a Gas piston one. The gas pistons system is no harder to do than a DI. Threw on a cheap red dot to try it out
