    I'm glad the black rifle is mainstream for those who like that choice.

    But as I take my 03 Springfield into my hands, and work the smooth bolt, knowing the powerful punch it can release at distances from close to great with its 30 caliber 175 grain hand loads, I am happy to stay right here.

    It seems the AR is more popular these days,whether it's for hunting,SD,or recreational.

    I don't know which is really more popular,but i enjoy my AR better than my shotgun.I use to hunt a few years back with my Dad.Don't go very much anymore.

    That's me, too. My dad passed away two years ago this summer. I used to hunt with him but with him gone I have no desire to hunt again. In the last two years I've pretty much traded off all my hunting type guns in favor of handguns.
