Walmart has 1,000 cases of XM855

Stopped in my local Walmart this morning and they had at least 2 cases of Federal XM855 5.56mm on the shelf. The cost was 447.99 I believe.
I've got 400 rounds of this load already and enough .223 and XM193 to plink with.
It is hard for me to justify these prices, but I'm glad to see that .223/5.56 is easier to come by lately.
I like the 62gr XM855 load out of my 1/7 barrel better than the 55gr .223 I usually plink with, but my carbine eats Tula all day at nearly half the price.
Do you think I should jump on this and risk pizzing the wife off, or just stick to buying a few boxes at a time and build up my stock slowly? There doesn't seem to be a huge savings as this is sold in 20rd boxes for just over $10 as well.

I saw this at a few of my local walmarts as well. I'd shop around a bit. PSA had the same case of XM855 for ~$420, and was still cheaper than Walmart's price AFTER shipping was included. No sales tax either.

If you are gonna get the wife ticked, at least tell her you got the best price possible!

au contraire mon fraire ...... that would be 3.58392-bits ah shot at La Wally World @ $.44799 ah shot.

Considering some are still trying to get, while asking as much as, 5.864-bits ah shot\$.733 that price of $.44799 ah shot would almost be per-hist-area pricing which was ah-boot, if memory serves me correct, $.35 too .$40 ah shot mon cheri.

Finally prices on firearms and their related accessories are starting to returning too their per-gouging worth.

I've skipped it for now. I think it is over priced.
The good news is that increased availability will eventually promote lower prices.
Now if I could only be there when they unload the pallet of .22 lr....

I believe it was a Daily Deal... would explain the price changing. Check daily, PSA has AMAZING daily deals if it's something you want. If not, just wait. They have a wide variety of things pop up.

I haven't seen a pallet, but I have been there when they come out with cases of Federal 550 packs.

Do they send out deals in emails?

I don't believe so, but just check their website. They typically change the deals around noon EST each day. Right on the front page, but sometimes there's a few that get pushed down or to the 2nd page.

I got a Sig P938 for my girlfriend for $540. They're $725-$750 or more locally.

I picked up a stripped lower and 10 PMAGs a few months back for $193 after shipping and FFL transfer fee. I ended up selling the lower for $175 and 2 of the PMAGs for $15 each. All in all I made $12 and 8 free PMAGs for my trouble.

You must shop at the same Walmart I do! Did they also have about 4 boxes of Federal 45 ACP and a bunch of 20 boxes of 5.56?
