Not a waffle, but it is Belgian

Mrs. Stove and I hit the LGS this evening as she was making another purchase before the draconian new laws take effect here in the People's Republic. Big rush of sales to get in before October 1.

So while she was filling out the paperwork, the salesman mentioned that he had one more 5.56 left that was cash and carry. Here in the PRM we have a "select committee" that meets every few years and decides which guns look scary enough or have had enough bad press to be on the "Regulated" assault rifle list. Once on the list the weapon is subject to the same 7 day wait as handguns. The AK47 is apparently so scary that it is on the list twice....

If a particular weapon is new enough, apparently not scary enough, or has not been used in a mass shooting somewhere, they are cash and carry after the NICS check just like a shotgun or bolt action rifle would be.

    Makes perfect sense, right?

Long story short, this sweet baby is now mine....

    SCAR 16S

Thanks, now I feel a little better. Paid $2,800. This was a spur of the moment decision made purely by the fact that in two weeks they will no longer be sold in these parts.

Kind of my version of flippin' the bird to O'Malley........

Sweet:) I had no idea what "cash & carry" meant. I thought he was telling you it was cash only. Ie no credit cards, or something. Amazing.

Actually, no..... they do accept credit or debit cards as was my case. It's just "cash and carry" as in "you give me the payment and you carry out the door, no 7 day wait".

You are appaloosa correct Sir........cash & carry = the purchaser takes it home @ the time they pay for it in full.

Reminds me of the 30/30 warranty I got on ah pre-owned automobile once. That would be 30-feet off the dealers lot or 30-seconds after after you first start the automobile to drive off of said-lot. It also came with a 4.25/AC. Open 4 windows and drive 25mph.

OH and KUDOS on the new cash & carry it's beauteous magnus opus

Now that is absolutely beautiful. I'd really like the 7.62 version myself. We can credit that moron O'Malley with the small collection of AK-74s, 47s, and some new ARs that suddenly found their way into my safe over here...
