    whats the best youth size 20 ga semi-auto shotty?

    I like my Mossberg 930, but its really too bulky and too much recoil for my family to use. I think a youth size 20 ga is the way to go.
    What are the best 20 ga semi auto shotguns available?

    I found that a youth 20 ga. has the same recoil as a 12 ga.
    That's because the youth size is also lighter.

    I've become a fan of .410 for a lot of good reasons.

    Rem 1197 youth. Franchi 48, Benelli Montifeltro 20 ga is a good bet too. Little pricy but really nice

    I'd look for a used Remington 1100 or 11-87... robust guns, scads of them out there. Either cut the buttstock down to a useful length of pull, or get youth-sized replacement at Brownell's or other supplier. Combined with a good recoil pad that should solve the problem nicely.

    +1 for that. taught my wife, my first wife, and will teach my kids to shoot shotguns with my garndfather's .410 my dad made the stock for in wood shop in his high school in the 50's

    I don't know if its a full blown youth but the Saiga 20 ( you can teach mag changes) They also make a Saiga .410
    Fast is fine, but accuracy is everything.
