That's pretty cool, but I'd have no desire to have one. I wouldn't mind shooting one once just to say I did. But there is no way I could afford to feed one of them let alone buy one.

That does not look fun to shoot more than once.

I always preferred the belt fed M2 50 BMG mounted on a vehicle with ammo provided by Uncle Sam.

I was thinking the same thing....OUCH!

But, it is pretty darn cool watching someone else shoot (and feed) it!

That is the coolest gun I've ever seen! It'll stop the threat in one shot. I'd bet big money on it.

I have shot an AR platform that fired a .458 SOCOM, and yeah, not really the funnest gun to shoot. Kicked like a mule. Now that one looks like it has a pretty good muzzle break on it so that would help, but there is something that can be said for just a lot of mass to help with recoil.

No, I never thought the AR to be a wimpy rifle.

Yes, AR-15s are wimpy. I had a Ruger No. 1 in .458 Lott until the ammo got up to $120.00 for a twenty round box. None of my friends would shoot it. They talked in awe about the visible shockwave that came off of me when I shot it. A 500 grain solid @ 2365 fps is an awesome thing.

Haha a visible shockwave would be a sight to see! Measured by the Richter scale!

But just because you like shooting that bazooka doesn't make an AR wimpy!

So, what did you do with the Ruger No. 1?
