Don't knock the accuracy too much. I knew a guy that installed a receiver sight and handloaded his ammo - accuracy was fine.

Why not get a second SKS and equip it as your first SKS. Perhaps put a scope on #2. With a scope I think a bipod would be necessary. Something permanently installed. I think a recent development is an AK pistol. I wouldn't want one unless I could get something with select fire and a folding or collapsible stock but that's just me.

I think its called the RPD or RPK. In 7.62x39. Longer barrel and designed for long distance shooting. A quality scope perhaps with a ranging device built in.
Firing a suppressed is on my Bucket List.

I'm just a spoke in the wheel but not a big deal.

I edited my post...my SKS is crazy accurate..jaw dropping....I was wondering if I need more capacity than my SKS..I really don't like those duck billed Hi-cap mags for the SKS..

And I'd love to find a SKS D that uses AK mags...they are hard to find...

Ms are easier to find if you dont mind 16inchs and no bayo

Dont use duckbills they are very hit and miss

I know the chinese made a SKS for a while that had a internal 20 round mag ... Thous pop up now and then

THe ms are about 500-600 now if you look ...

Really for me I just like the M as I like drop free mags .. But you can load stripper clips crazy fast if you get good at it ...

If you want a "ninja " gun a tapco stock does fit eitere the d or m ....

I like AKs so ask me what you want ... https://www.ar15.com/forums/t_4_64/1..._in_here_.html is a great place to start ...

Also a gaili rifle is a nice clone but the new ones are only 223 the old ones are in 7.62x39 I think but crazy expensive

also sig maks a 556r that takes AK mags as does PTR make a g3 that takes thouse mags 556R-hero-detail.jpg

Keep the SKS. You can load them quick with stripper clips. Accuracy is good to have but so is capacity. If you can keep the SKS and save for a standard capacity AK. Each is the same caliber but each have a niche role. The SKS doesn't have a detachable mag and the profile of an AK or M4. This might help you keep a lower profile if the need arises.

Yeah ..thanks for the input...I'm gonna keep the SKS..and not get a Hi-Cap Semi (AK type) ..I really don't git to the range asmuch as I used to..and when I do ..I focus on handguns...

    Thx for the input..

I set my sks up with a tapco stock and use the 20 round detachable mags, you get you keep your weapon the way it is but add the "tacti-cool" stuff to it. It has a collapsable stock and pistol grip and is essentially an ak at that rate.

I'm fine with 6 rounds of .30-30 in the tube of my lever gun. I think you made the right choice of keeping your SKS. 10 center fire rifle rounds is plenty for anything the average citizen is realistically going to face - and reloads with stipper clips are fast enough.
