    Bottom eject home defense shotgun?

My better half is a lefty so one of those wonderful little Mossberg 20ga they have now is out of the question and the only bottom eject the LGS's know about is the Browning! $$$$

In another thread a few months ago someone mentioned a bottom ejecting shotgun for home defense that was closer to the Mossberg price range. Age and brain damage being what it is I can't remember the brand or find the thread.

Any insight, wisdom, or better recollection would be appreciated...

Ithica model 87. I have one and its great but there is virtually nobody out there that makes a stock set for it. So what you get from the factory is what you get.

Thanks Rock! I don't need a stock set. Standard shoulder is fine for me and especially for my lady! I'm just looking for something that makes enough noise, spits enough flame out of the barrel, and will do what is needed if needed!

Ithaca Model 37 Deerslayer is a great HD gun. Bottom Feed, bottom eject. Down side is, because of it's design, there's never been a extended mag tube available for it.
ON the OTHER hand, there IS a Model 37 Defense shotgun made, 8 shot 20 inch barrel.

I was just looking online and they make a "defense" model that has a pistol grip, collapsable stock, and extend magazine tube. Maybe they will start selling those parts aftermarket.ithacamodel3723.jpg

I'm a lefty and have no trouble with a Remington 870. Not sure what the issue is.

I agree with the above. What does being a lefty have to do with shooting a shotgun?

I had to switch to left handed shooting after an injury, all my long guns are right handed, never had an issue,I have a Mossberg 930 Semi-Auto for home defense due to the safety on the tang can be manipulated witheither hand unlike a cross bolt safety that would require you to reach under the trigger guard to manipulate it.
So as far as a right handed gun I would be more concerned about the safety position than the way it ejects

I'm a lefty and shoot a Mossberg 500 all the time. What's the problem?

Has always been model 37, as its first year in production. It's a great gun but it does have some downsides. Regular models cannot have a mag extension and hd models have no choke if you care about that. The gun is more expensive than its counterparts. Mine is a 1956 and still shoots, looks great, and functions well with fixed mod choke. This is a John Browning designed gun.
