Minute of Angle. typically 1" = a click or several depending on the MOA adjustment of the scope/sights at 100 yrds. So when a scope reads 1/4" moa adjustments 4 clicks =1"

    1 MOA = Roughly 1" at 100 yards.

    1/2 MOA = 1/2" at 100 yards or 1" at 200 yards.

    2 MOA = 1" at 50 yards or 2" at 100 yards or 4" at 200 yards.

    Making sense?

One sixtieth of a degree. As others have pointed out, this works out to about an inch at 100 yards.

heard about a fellow trying to sight in a scope. Turns out he was new to shooting and mounted the scope with the elevation turret to the side. Not knowing any better, he read the elevation label, but could not figure why the scope would not sight in. (elevation adjustment on the side will adjust windage)
