So i have the opportunity to get a Saiga AK for cheap money, a friend of my dad needs money to make payroll and is selling it off to do so. So he offered it to me for.......wait for it..........$300. I know most will say jump on it, but im not sure of the reputation of the Saiga. Now its not the sporterized version, this one has a pistol grip and a bayonet added onto it, so it looks like the old polytech. Now i just finished an AR build and have the tapco stock on my SKS. Should i hop on this or not? I guess im just looking for justification on this from my friends out in the DC world.

And Shepards we shall be, for Thee, my Lord, for Thee,
Power hath descended forth from Thy hand, So that our feet may swiftly carry out thy command,
And we shall flow a river forth to Thee, And teeming with souls shall it ever be,
If you don't someone else will....
I would buy it. At that price you are pretty unlikely to lose money on the deal if you decide to sell in the future.
I don't see a mention of caliber, which caliber is it in? More because I am curious, not that it would change my answer.

Give him the $300 with the condition he gets first shot at it for the same $300 when his business improves.

You mean you didn't buy it already??

I'd go for it. At that price you could always sell it on if you didn't like it for some reason and at least get what you had in it.

Hard to go wrong with that deal, if it actually shoots.

Saiga has a very good reputation. You can't go wrong.
Can't go wrong with the deal. Nothing wrong with adding a quality AK to the collection, and you're getting it for far below market value. Jump all over it, enjoy it, and then do the right thing and throw it back at the guy for the same money when his situation improves.

Added a bayo lug is not as easy with it ... So yeah buy that sucker now .... If 5.45 even better as normal 74 mags work withouth modding the rifle
If prof done ( ie not with a crap add on stock ) ... That is trigger moved forawrd etc ... It is worth a bit ... Heck even a plan jain saiga is going for 350-400 now
You got a good deal assuming it fires and condation is good!
